“You really have to meet with them and talk about how an injury affected their everyday life, what kind of treatment they are getting and what kind of treatment they would like to get if they could,” he says.

Resnick frequently visits clients in their homes or at the hospital to understand the trauma that an accident has caused.

Resnick says the law firm has to be prepared to fight with the insurance company for fair compensation because from the moment a personal injury accident occurs, it is a battle for justice. He said an insurance company is more likely to settle a case if the insurer understands the personal injury lawyer representing the accident victim has a detailed understanding of the case and is fully prepared to go to trial.

“If a client chooses me as their attorney, they are getting someone who is more tenacious than the other guy,” Resnick says. “They are getting someone who is going to be there.”
